Over 200 bottlenose dolphins inhabit the waters off Futae, Gowa Town, and they are incredibly playful and friendly. Within 10 minutes of setting sail, a pod of dolphins will appear seemingly out of nowhere, swimming alongside the boat and even jumping out of the water! It’s almost as if you’re playing with them. The tour departs with just one adult, so you can relax and enjoy the experience. The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes – come and enjoy this wonderful time playing with dolphins!

Tomioka Castle

This visitor center is located on the site of the former main keep of Tomioka Castle. It introduces Unzen-Amakusa National Park, allowing visitors to learn about the attractive natural scenery, history, and culture of the Amakusa region in an enjoyable way. The Reihoku Town Historical Museum provides explanations and exhibits on the history of Tomioka Castle and the “Amakusa-Shimabara Rebellion.” The museum also sells “castle stamps,” and it is said that these stamps bring good fortune in preventing Tomioka Castle from falling, as the castle survived two fierce attacks during the Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion!

This JA (Japan Agricultural Cooperatives) direct sales store is easily recognizable by its large Dekopon orange monument. It offers a wide variety of products, including fresh seafood, vegetables and fruits lovingly grown by local producers, and Amakusa specialties such as Koppa mochi and Ganeage.
